2014 twill Cellars Oregon Syrah
A slightly quirky, seriously well made, mature Syrah from Oregon.
Family owned by Molly and Darrel Roby, twill Cellars is a small but perfectly formed winery in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Here the temperate climate, combined with coastal marine influences, make the gentle growing conditions within the Valley ideal for cool climate grapes, including the noble grapes, Syrah and Pinot Noir. Vineyards are organic and their wines are made with low intervention in the cellar. twill focuses on crafting serious wines from some of the best vineyards in Oregon.
On the nose the Oregon Syrah has loads of olives, roasted herbs and black cherries. On the palate, espresso, chocolate, liquorice and strawberry come through. The 2014 vintage is perfect to drink now.
