2017 Mitolo `GAM` McLaren Vale Shiraz

McLaren Vale based Mitolo is a family owned winery and is one of the Australian producers to watch. McLaren Vale is one of the great and oldest names of Australian wine and the Mitolo vineyard that produces the Shiraz grapes for this wine overlooks the ocean ensuring cool afternoon breezes that help retain good acidity levels and aid in the development of complex flavours in the grapes.

This wine is intense and complex with a nose of black cherry and blackened cedar wood with dried Mediterranean herbs. The palate has immense yet savoury flavours of vanilla, dark plums and dry, earthy flavours reminiscent of the clay soil from which it is grown. It is superbly balanced despite it's bold flavours.
