A delicious, fresh, easy drinking red wine from the famous village of Montalcino in southern Tuscany

The San Polo estate is owned by the Allegrini family, one of the most dynamic wine producers in Italy,  who have introduced an eco-friendly approach with a commitment to sustainability.  The family have invested heavily in the estate, and this investment is now evident in the ever-increasing quality of the wines.  Situated in Podernovi, on the southern slope of the famous Tuscan village of Montalcino, San Polo produces wonderfully classic styles of the famously rich, age worthy, Tuscan Brunello di Montalcino.

The delicious San Polo Rosso di Montalcino is the younger sibling of the Brunello di Montalcino and is great to drink now.   It is a little lighter and combines a particular vivaciousness, tanginess and freshness with a well-crafted structure.

It is bright ruby red in colour. On the nose, it has aromas of fresh blackberries, Morello cherry and botanical herbs complemented by a hint of vanilla spice. This is a fragrant, easy drinking wine with smooth tannins and a persistent finish.
