2021 Herdade do Peso `Revelado` Alentejo Tinto

The vineyards of Herdade do Peso sit against a backdrop of gently rolling hills in Vidígueirain, in the heart of the Alentejo wine region of southern Portugal.  Despite its southerly location, Vidígueira is one of the cooler Alentejo areas and benefits from cool Atlantic air funnelled inland by a gap in the coastal hills.  Here, red Portuguese varieties are favoured and considerable work has gone into mapping the estate's 12 different soil types and each variety is matched to its ideal plot.

The Herdade do Peso ‘Revelado’ blends the local Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Nacional grapes with Cabernet Sauvignon. It is full-bodied and has flavours of black cherries and black plums, with a savoury hint of toast and cloves which carry on to a lingering finish.
