2022 Cullen `Grace Madeline` Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon
A classic white wine blend from Margaret River’s finest
Cullen Wines is a certified biodynamic, carbon-neutral, and naturally powered estate and is one of the oldest and most awarded family wineries in Western Australia’s famous Margaret River region. First established in 1971 by Dr Kevin and Diana Madeline Cullen, the winery has built an outstanding reputation for biodynamic wines that receive great acclaim.
Cullen Grace Madeline is the classic white grape blend synonymous with the Bordeaux region of France but with new-world ripeness of fruit. The grapes work so well together because Sémillon brings body and rounds out Sauvignon Blanc’s tart acidity and herbal notes. The wine is named in honour of Diana Madeline's mother, Grace, who was born in 1895 in London. A vocal and impassioned Suffragette, she was involved in many charities and campaigned for women's rights. It is complex and richly textured, full of tropical pineapple, guava, and freshly cut grass aromas, from the Cullens' exceptional biodynamically farmed Mangan Vineyard in Wilyabrup, Margaret River. On the nose complex aromas of gooseberries and citrus fruit combine with freshly cut grass. The palate has intense citrus fruit notes of lemon and lime rounded out by honeydew melon. These pure fruit flavours are sustained on a long savoury finish.
