In the rugged, mountainous heart of northern Corsica, Domaine Vico’s Le Bois du Cerf Rouge is produced using indigenous Niellucciu (Sangiovese in Italy) and Sciaccarellu grapes, blended to bring depth and spice. It opens with aromas of red cherry, wild berries and Mediterranean herbs, followed by a supple, fresh palate marked by raspberry, subtle pepper, warm earth and fine tannins. The finish is lifted by bright acidity and a little island salinity.

Founded in 1901, Domaine Vico is unusual in Corsica for being an entirely estate-grown operation, with vineyards planted at altitude on granitic soils that deliver naturally low yields and vivid aromatics. Now farmed organically, the estate focuses on expressing the character of Corsica’s interior—its wild scrub, cooling mountain winds and striking diurnal shifts in temperature. Le Bois du Cerf reflects this temperament clearly: vibrant, aromatic and firmly rooted in its Corsican landscape.
