2023 Bodega Secreto Patagonico Mantra Classic Pinot Noir
An elegant Pinot Noir from the southern tip of Argentina
Located at 45 degrees south of the equator in the midst of a desert lies Patagonia, arguably one of the world's least obvious places for viticultural success. Despite a cool, dry climate and harsh winds, the region has seen a boom in high-end, quality winemaking in recent years. Located at a lower altitude than Mendoza, the warm days and cold nights here create a perfect climate for the production of elegant wines.
Established in 2003, Secreto Patagónico is dedicated to expressing the true essence of Patagonia through their wines with a focus on sustainable practices and a commitment to small-batch production. The vineyards experience low annual rainfall and frequent and intense winds, forcing the grapes to develop thick skins and establish deep-set roots, characterising its wines' robust structure.
The wine has a vibrant ruby-red colour with aromatic layers of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and delicate floral notes. Hints of earthy spice and soft vanilla from French oak aging add complexity, which leads to a long, graceful finish.
