2023 Domaine de Montangeron Fleurie
A wonderfully light, floral red from Fleurie, a top cru village in the Beaujolais region.
Made from the Gamay grape, the light fruity red wines of Beaujolais in southern Burgundy are well known to most wine drinkers. There are ten named crus located in the northern part of Beaujolais, where the best examples of Beaujolais are made. Wines produced in these crus are allowed to be labelled with the cru from which they hail. Fleurie is recognised as one of the finest crus with its perfumed, silky, moreish style. As its name suggests, this quintessential Beaujolais is fresh, floral, fragrant, and feminine.
The Domaine de Montangeron Fleurie exemplifies the elegance and charm of the region. Crafted from 100% Gamay grapes, with its bright ruby colour, it invites you to experience a bouquet of red berries, including vibrant strawberries and raspberries, complemented by hints of rose petals and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is smooth and well-balanced, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity that make it incredibly food-friendly.
