2024 Domaine du Petit Soumard Pouilly Fumé
A classically pure old-world Sauvignon Blanc from the French Loire region
Marcel Langoux’s Domaine du Petit Soumard Pouilly-Fumé is a classic example of a wonderful eastern Loire Sauvignon Blanc. While often compared to the more prestigious Sancerre, which commands higher prices and is known for its racy acidity, Sauvignon Blancs from the Pouilly-Fumé region offer a slightly softer profile. This wine showcases the unique Pouilly-Fumé terroir, characterised by high-quality clay and limestone soils that nurture the vines.
The wine has vibrant citrus, green apple and grapefruit aromas, intermingled with hints of flint and fresh herbs. Each sip reveals the elegance and complexity that defines classic Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire.
