Even though the doors of the world’s top restaurants are closed, Winecroft members can still drink great wines from their winelists. And from May we have 28 brilliant new additions to the Winecroft club list.
Among the new white wines chosen for the club list, from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, we have the 2017 Terrazze Dell’Etna Ciuri Etna. This wine is made from a blend of 15% Carricante, a native Etna variety known for its finesse and crisp character, and 85% Nerello Mascalese vinified ‘in bianco’ (as a white wine). The wine is fresh and fragrant with notes of tropical fruit and a hint of rosemary. It has been on the list at London’s famous River Cafe restaurant for a while. Perfect for Spring and Summer drinking.
For another new white we head over to the French Loire valley for the 2018 Domaine des Ballandors Quincy. This top quality Sauvignon Blanc is fresh with wonderful lemon intensity. It is a favourite at Quilon, the award winning South-west coastal Indian restaurant located in Westminster, London.
We then head back to north-west Italy for a delicious new red, the 2017 Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo. This superb example of a Langhe Nebbiolo from Franco Massolino, one of Barolo’s outstanding winemakers is on the list at Trinity, the wonderful neighbourhood restaurant in Clapham Old Town, London.
This is but a handful of some incredible new wines that are now on the Winecroft Club Winelist.
