2015 Glenelly Estate Reserve Red Blend
Wonderful, Bordeaux-meets-the-Rhône red blend from a great South African estate
In 2003, May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, then owner of the famous Pauillac second growth Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande in Bordeaux, bought the estate and brought a lifetime of wine knowledge and passion to Stellenbosch. Formerly labelled as Grand Vin de Glenelly, this is the great value, second wine from Glenelly - the little sister of Glenelly Lady May. It is made with a Bordeaux-meets-the-Rhône combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
The Glenelly Estate Reserve Red Blend is all about elegance with underlying power. Bold aromas of blackberries, cranberry and blackcurrant are followed by hints of savoury, spicy plum with touches of cedar. A fresh long finish.
