Herdade do Mouchão is a long standing family run winery in the heart of the famous Portuguese wine region of Alentejo. Here cellar and vineyard workers have been working for generations. The wine making process is, as it always has been, unhurried. The grape varieties are local, picked by hand and foot-trodden. In the ever-changing world of winemaking, Herdade do Mouchão, remains very traditional.
Mouchão Ponte Tinto is a blend of the Estate’s very best Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Syrah grapes, handpicked and foot trodden in traditional stone lagares – the same winemaking methods used at the adega for over a century.
Intense garnet colour and aromas of black fruit, plum jam, mint, spices and typical floral notes of violets and white flowers from the Touriga Nacional. Very balanced and rich, it reveals good structure with surprising freshness.
