2018 Division Winemaking Co Pinot Noir ‘Un’ Willamette Valley
A beautiful Pinot from an innovative multi award-winning Oregon winery.
Division Winemaking Company is a Portland, Oregon based winery founded in 2010 by Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe. Inspired by the Beaujolais and Burgundy estates where they first learned winemaking and viticulture, the urban winery creates great Oregon and Washington wines though minimal manipulation.
All the fruit for the Division Un Pinot Noir comes from Willamette Valley, the majority from Eola-Amity hills. 75% of the fruit is farmed organically and/or biodynamically. The resulting wine has a light, finesse-driven style. The aromatics are electric and airy at the same time, with deep spicy earthy tones and strawberry and an almost iron note. It’s dominated by brambly strawberry flavours and dark mineral layers and has a serious amount of length.
