2019 Christophe Buisson Saint-Romain Blanc
Top-quality white Burgundy from the Cote de Beaune.
Destined to be a mason like his father and his brother, Christophe decided to leave the family business and go into the wine industry in 1996 renting a few acres of vines. Overtime he gradually purchased and rented further vines in and around the small Burgundy appellation of Saint-Romain, off the beaten track in the Cote de Beaune region of Burgundy. The appellation of Saint-Romain is ampitheatre-like, with the best sites located on stony slopes beneath a striking outcropping of limestone cliff. Christophe owns land in some of the best sites.
The Saint-Romain Blanc is a very charming white Burgundy. The nose has vibrant notes of lemon, white flowers and flint. The palate strikes the balance between acidity and richness like all great Burgundies, with bright fruit and honey notes with a long finish.
