2019 Innocent Bystander Yarra Valley Syrah

Innocent Bystander is a long established winery in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia.  This style of Syrah reflects the soil, climate and topography of the cool climate in the Yarra Valley.

The wine has a tiny bit of the white Viognier, as is used in the northern Rhone, the homeland of Syrah.  It has aromas of violets and peppercorns, nutmeg and blue fruits. Rich and smooth on the palate with soft velvety tannins and flavours of fruit compote with savoury notes. Juicy, with medium weight and good balance. Very drinkable.
