2020 Chateau de Roquefort Gueule du Loup
A delicious red from one of the best winemakers in the beautiful Provence region of the south of France
More than just a vacation hotspot and the rosé capital of the world, Provence is a coastal, southeastern appellation of France increasingly producing interesting wines of all colours. The warm, breezy Mediterranean climate is ideal for grape growing and the diverse terrain and soil types allow for a variety of wine styles within the region.
This red blend from Raimond de Villeneuve's impressively beautiful, biodynamic vineyard has more complexity than is usual in Provençal wines. The ‘Gueule de Loup’ Château de Roquefort, is brimming with strawberries, raspberries, liquorice, Herbs de Provence, game and earth. Savoury and meaty on the finish with an underlying note of wild strawberries, this is a great wine for drinking with food.
