2022 Bonnigal-Bodet Touraine Le Clocher Chenin
Rich and superbly balanced Loire white
Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet is Jean Baptiste Bonnigal and Stéphane Bodet, who in 2015, jointly took over Bonnigal’s fourth-generation family domaine in Amboise, in the heart of the Loire valley. Using organic and biodynamic practices they use their skills learnt in New Zealand and Bordeaux to create wines of both precision and purity. Le Clocher is a plot on a south-facing clay-limestone terroir above the village of Limeray.
This is a bold, richly textured dry Chenin Blanc with pear and peach aromas with some spicy apple too. A touch of marmalade on the finish. Superb.
