2022 Domaine Billard St Aubin Premier Cru AOC Les Castets

Grapes for this classic red Burgundy are sourced from Pinot Noir vines grown in Les Castets, one of the 30 premier cru classified vineyards in the village of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune.  Jérôme Billard is the fifth generation to head the family winemaker and has managed the vineyards since 1999 with a continuous passion for creating the best Burgundian wines. This fruity red is produced with minimal intervention without using chemical sprays, instead preferring to encourage natural predators, such as insects to feed on pests. The grapes are hand-harvested and then transferred to sorting tables where they are carefully selected, ensuring that only the highest quality fruit is used.

Rich and powerful with a peppery character. Velvety tannins support complex mature red berry and dried fruit flavours.  It is intense and robust in style with incredible depth on a long, lingering finish.
