2022 Domaine Chevalier Ladoix Rouge
A perfect red Burgundy to compete with the finest
Domaine Chevalier was founded in 1850 by Émile Dubois. It is tiny with only 15 hectares of vines, planted on south-easterly facing chalk-clay soils in Ladoix, right on the doorstep of Aloxe-Corton, in the north of the legendary Côte de Beaune in the heart of Burgundy, France. Today Domaine Chevalier is run by Julie and Chloé, great grand-daughters of Émile with Chloé responsible for the winemaking.
The Ladoix Rouge is a perfect red Burgundy. On the nose it has notes of bright red cherry fruit, raspberry coulis and hints of sweet spice. The palate is finely structured with silky tannins, lifted acidity and a long perfumed finish.
