2017 Ernie Els Cabernet Sauvignon
An award-winning South African Cabernet from the vineyards of the Big Easy.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most famous red wine grape in the world and one of the most widely planted. Whilst Bordeaux in France may well be the home of this grape it is very adaptable and some of the world’s finest wines are produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, including South Africa. The Ernie Els Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on the warm north-facing slopes of the Helderberg region within the Stellenbosch appellation. A pure, regal and pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the glass, the wine shows a black core and crimson edge, offering a brightness to the densely ripe fruit. The nose brings to mind milk chocolate melted over baked blueberries! It is full in body with chalky tannins, has a rich texture with a salty liquorice finish which delivers serious length (like Ernie's drives!)
