2017 Château du Moulin-à-Vent Cru Beaujolais
A top drawer light Red from Moulin-à-Vent in the heart of the Beaujolais region.
Made from the Gamay grape, the light fruity red wines of Beaujolais in southern Burgundy are well known to most. The top cru Beaujolais are a big step up though and the peak is the wine of Moulin-à-Vent that is known as the ‘King of Beaujolais’ for its power, structure, and longevity.
This top example is from Château du Moulin-à-Vent. It is easy to drink but has great balance, with excellent concentration and good acidity. It has flavours of red and black fruit - morello cherries, red-currents, strawberries, with hints of spice, marshmallow, and floral notes of rose.
